It all starts with health.
Action for Healthy Kids leads the charge to solve the dual crisis in child health and education. Through our National School District Health and Wellness Impact Network, we provide districts with resources, training, and funding to implement evidence-based wellness programs. We work at the district level because that’s where systemic change happens, impacting millions of students. When we invest in kids’ health today, we create successful tomorrows for everyone. UpRISE is a youth-driven movement that seeks to build diverse youth leaders who understand tobacco/nicotine use through intersecting perspectives including systems-based, community-specific, and individual lived experiences. These leaders investigate root causes of tobacco use and take action to disrupt unjust policies and systems that contribute to youth tobacco use and addiction. Youth organizations and schools across Colorado participate in the movement, with the support of UpRISE staff based at the Colorado School of Public Health.
